Flake floors

Why Flake Floors Are the Smart, Durable Choice

Whether you're a homeowner upgrading your garage or a business owner looking to protect a high-traffic floor, flake flooring offers a seamless blend of strength, style, and long-term value. These systems don’t just look great—they’re built to perform under pressure.

What Makes Flake Floors So Durable?

Flake floors are more than just visually appealing. The decorative flakes embedded in the surface act like fiber reinforcement—similar to fiber-reinforced cement—adding tensile strength to the coating. The result is an industrial-grade, high-performance surface that stands up to wear, impact, and heavy foot or vehicle traffic.

Not All Flake Floors Are Built the Same

Many companies promote “one-day floors” using only fast-curing polyaspartic coatings. While convenient, this quick-fix method sacrifices long-term performance. Polyaspartic alone doesn’t fully penetrate the concrete due to its rapid set time, leading to weaker bonds and increased risk of peeling or chipping over time.

Our Proven, Long-Lasting Process

At Resin Resurrection, we believe in doing it right—not just fast. Our multi-step installation process is designed for maximum durability:

  1. Mechanical Grinding
We start by grinding the concrete down to the aggregate, opening the pores for optimal coating adhesion.

  2. Epoxy Base Coat
A slow-curing epoxy base is applied. Unlike polyaspartic, epoxy penetrates deeply into the concrete, forming a powerful bond that lasts.

  3. Full Flake Broadcast
We broadcast decorative flakes evenly into the wet epoxy, enhancing both aesthetics and surface strength.

  4. Polyaspartic Topcoat
Once cured, we apply a UV-resistant polyaspartic topcoat. This protects against yellowing, staining, and surface damage—keeping your floor looking like new for years.

The Bottom Line

Our process may take slightly longer—about a day and a half—but the payoff is clear:
Superior adhesion
Longer-lasting protection
Greater resistance to chipping, fading, and wear

Whether it's for your garage, showroom, warehouse, or commercial space, a flake floor installed the right way means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and more value over time.
